She rests her head against the mirror and watches the mess in the practice room—half-empty water bottles all over the table, coats forgotten on the floor, Hyerin and Soomin arguing over who drank the last can of soda they hid in the freezer. Then, quietly, like a cat, Jiyeon makes a beeline and sits next to her, head resting on her shoulder. Kotone lets her—always does, expects it to happen at least once a day.
This is your life now, Kotone repeats, the knot in her throat loosening as Jiyeon starts babbling about a move she can't get right, Tokyo vanishing into a distant memory in the back of her mind.
